Dalet Pyramid Planner is a cloud-native, customizable news planning application that maximizes collaboration and synergies across the news organization. The solution employs a digital-first, story-centric workflow that is NOT tied to the rundown. This enables a much more dynamic workflow that is adaptive and responsive to audiences on every platform.
Traditionally, news stories revolved around the rundown. Under this workflow, resources, assets and story ideas are typically siloed and not shared across the wider news organization. Further, digital teams would have to wait until the broadcast team stories were assembled before preparing the stories for social media and digital platforms. This doesn’t work for several reasons:
1. Audiences are going to digital platforms first.
2. News Stories often have national and global appeal – audiences want constant updates.
3. Modern newsrooms need to support (sometimes globally) dispersed teams collaborating on a common pool of story assets.
Dalet Pyramid Planner provides a centralized dashboard to cover stories – collaboratively. Instead of working on their local siloed standalone system, all users – the desk, field correspondents, newsroom producers, editors and digital teams – have access to assets, assignments and more in the cloud. Alerts provide important notifications on story updates/developments. Federated tools, underpinned by the industry’s most performant media asset management and orchestration platform facilitate collaboration, story creation and distribution with the highest degree of transparency and speed.

By centralizing all news planning with Dalet Pyramid Planner, users can visualize, manage, assign and track stories quickly and easily across teams and platforms (digital, social, TV and radio broadcast, print), locations (stations, offices, field teams) and entities (partners and sister organizations). Highlights and capabilities include
• Facilitate production workflows. The planning-centric workflow becomes the primary organizational tool for journalists and production teams. They can assign stories, set deadlines, add tasks and share editorial status.
• Go digital-first. No need to wait for the TV story to be broadcast to repurpose the content for digital platforms. The digital and social team can take the lead and cover the story before it is broadcast on TV.
• Address multiple platforms for any given story. The notion of the story is radically transformed in a planning-centric workflow. The same story now hosts all its different versions for other platforms with their specific needs. For instance, the script and the VO are different on a TV story than on YouTube, TikTok and X.
• Personalized. The centralized news planning solution allows you to always keep the source media and related projects under the same umbrella. It is therefore easy to reuse existing media and projects to further develop a story in a shorter or longer format for digital media.
• Digital/Broadcast teams can organize around and collaborate on important stories across a multi-site news operation.
• Have visibility on who does what, deadlines, why and by when the delivery must be done, what is the next assignment and with whom you will collaborate.
