TAG Video Systems’ Realtime Media Platform, is a 100% software solution running on COTS and cloud, structured to optimize operations at any scale, and adapt as business needs evolve. The Platform enables media operations to monitor and analyze video, audio and metadata content across all IP workflows. It provides deep probing and monitoring, insightful alarms, integrated realtime decryption, smart recording, advanced analysis and ultra-low latency visualization.

It’s multi-level, open-source architecture monitors, aggregates, manages and utilizes data-driven viewer analytics to provide users with the insight required to build performant linear media systems. Originally introduced in 2021, the Platform is a fluid work in progress with upgrades, enhancements and new technologies continually added to provide users with the tools they need to extract accurate data-driven information and use it to truly improve both Quality of Service and Quality of Experience for their customers.

Comprised of multiple levels, the foundation of the Realtime Media Platform is TAG’s Multi Channel Monitoring (MCM), a real-time decryption, probing, integrated monitoring and visualization processing engine for video workflows. The solution inspects live and recorded video feeds, as well as audio, metadata and all other critical data, generating alarms and allowing users to quickly identify and resolve issues. The MCM monitors every type of signal from live production through OTT delivery and supports hundreds of sources. Support for formats and transport methods are added consistently as they emerge, keeping the platform ahead of the technology curve.

TAG’s Media Control system,MCS, allows users to control, manage and configure monitoring operations at any scale, and drive multiple MCMs from one access point. MCS provides users with customizable dashboards, centralized API access, and serves as an aggregation engine capable of exposing the data collected by the MCM to standard third party analytic and visualization applications such as Elasticsearch, Kibana, Grafana and Prometheus to provide invaluable operational insight. With TAG’s MCS, users can deliver an exceptional viewer experience that can be validated and measured.

Recent functionalities that have been added include TAG Bridge, Content Matching and SSIM QoE measurements, Operator Console and many more. In addition, the MCS can be integrated with 70+ different data pipes, databases, and visualization tools.

The third layer of the Platform is the Insight level that allows TAG data to be run by machine leaning or data visualization engines to troubleshoot, optimize and identify patterns easily through Redis data structure.

Another element that set’s TAG apart is its Zer0 Friction® Licensing model that is designed to revolutionize management and asset utilization. A simple and agile licensing model, each TAG license delivers all its functionalities to every application and workflow, fitting both CAPEX and OPEX budgets. Licenses can be shared dynamically between functionalities, workflows, and locations based on evolving needs. The same TAG license can visualize a production in one location today and monitor an additional OTT data point in a different location tomorrow.
