Coupang Play OTT service provider purchased two PHABRIX Qx rasterizers to measure signal quality and perform complete QC checking of SDI signals for its international sports content.
Coupang Play is an OTT service provider headquartered in Jamsil, Seoul, whose wide-ranging programming includes coverage of live events, and domestic and international sports. The company’s interests in sports broadcasting are expanding, and led to the need to measure the signal quality of overseas sports relay systems.
Following a review of the available options for these measurements, the company chose and purchased two PHABRIX Qx rasterizers. It was the Qx’s ability to carry out a full range of day-to-day test & measurement (T&M) tasks – such as event error logging, closed caption and SCTE104 monitoring, and loudness analysis – that won the team over.
As a critical aspect of its OTT services, Coupang Play is also required to undertake complete QC checking of SDI signals for its international sports content. To do this, the team needs versatility and a diverse set of functions. Designed for HD/3G/6G/12-SDI and IP ST 2110/2022-7/2022-6 environments, the Qx brings together functionality for transitioning to the upcoming video formats.
Featuring SDI connectivity as standard, the device has core features such as picture view, waveform analyzer, vectorscope, 32-channel audio metering and ANC status. All together, these specifications satisfy rapid-fault diagnosis, compliance monitoring and product development requirements. An optional set of IP tools is also available.
