Zixi Protocol Supports AWS Elemental Proccessing and Transport
Zixi has developed protocol support for Amazon Web Services (AWS) Elemental MediaLive and AWS Elemental MediaConnect. This support means Zixi’s delivery protocol system is now integrated with the most recent release of AWS Elemental Live, a live video processing service that creates video streams for delivery to broadcast televisions and internet-connected multiscreen devices.
Users can take advantage of Zixi’s ability to optimise IP networks for video, and configure outputs intended to deliver live video content in real time over unmanaged networks. The result is a fast, secure, reliable contribution method for moving video content to AWS.
Zixi's approach achieves its resilience using a combination of content-aware and network adaptive forward error correction, error recovery, congestion avoidance, bonding of multiple transmission paths and dynamic feedback to control encoder rate, at the same time contolling latency times.
Zixi customers also have the option to configure their outputs from AWS Elemental MediaLive to be sent to the AWS Elemental MediaConnect transport service for live video, developed as an alternative to satellite networks or fibre connections to send content to the cloud or to transmit it to partners for distribution.
MediaConnect combines the reliability and security associated with satellite and fibre with the agility and lower cost of IP-based networks. With the new support from Zixi, AWS Elemental MediaConnect’s video transport becomes more reliable, supporting secured stream sharing and real-time network traffic and video monitoring. www.zixi.com
