MSI’s CreatorPro X17 laptop is now built with up to 12th Gen Intel Core i9-12900HX 16-core processors, combined with NVIDIA RTX GPUs with a 17.3in UHD display panel. It suits many different fields ranging from architecture, aerospace engineering and CAE simulation; to programming and AI; to design and content creation, VR and 3D renders.
Users select either an NVIDIA RTX A5500 Laptop GPU with 16GB GDDR6, or the RTX A3000 12GB GDDR6, bringing the advantage of real-time ray tracing, AI and complex graphics to workflows.
The 17.3in UHD (3840x2160) resolution display screen is an IPS-Level LCD panel with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 100% DCI-P3 (Typical) colour gamut. It comes factory-calibrated with Delta-E < 2 accuracy, and True Color Technology. MSI developed True Color with Portrait Displays as a standard level of accuracy for display screens. MSI says that examination and factory calibration using the True Color software results in a more accurate panel, achieving close to 100% sRGB. Each display’s True Color Profile contains preset mode settings, optimised for six different use scenarios, which can be shared with other users.
These characteristics help to make sure that all notebooks using MSI True Color software demonstrate exactly the same colour on the screen, which is useful for agency, corporate and freelance designers who need extreme consistency. The screens are also CalMAN Verified, which uses CalMAN software to evaluate whether a display has met the criteria for video post editing and review. The certification evaluates colour temperature, gamma curve and the Delta-E colour standard indicating how much a displayed colour may differ from its input colour.
MSI CreatorPro laptops are ISV certified systems as well, recognised by major ISVs in engineering, 3D modelling and design from Adobe, Autodesk, Dassault and others. They can support up to 150W Maximum Turbo Power.
The CreatorPro 17 is delivered with Windows 11 Home or Pro operating system, and Wi-Fi 6E certified to use the unlicensed 6GHz Wi-Fi band as well as the regular 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands. Extending Wi-Fi 6 capabilities into the 6 GHz band increases efficiency, throughput and security, keeping the network stable even when in crowded environments.
The laptop’s connectivity includes two Thunderbolt 4 ports, three USB-A 3.2 Gen2 ports and HDMI 2.1. Other ports and connectors include an Audio Combo (microphone input/speaker output) jack, Mini Display Port, RJ45 Ethernet and DC-in, with a full-size SD card (UHS-III) slot.
Now is a good time to look into the MSI line-up of laptops. Models from all of the company’s categories – gaming, content creation and business – are included in MSI’s Spring Sale, happening now until 31 October 2022. www.msi.com
