WCPMedia Handles Cloud-Based Dailies, Transcodes & Viewing for ‘The Young Pope’
Upcoming television series ‘The Young Pope’, produced by Wildside, is currently using WCPMedia Services’ virtual screening room and collaboration platform to share media during production and post, and to deliver trailers to target buyers. Written and directed by Academy Award-winner Paolo Sorrentino, ‘The Young Pope’ tells the fictional story of the first American Pontiff. The series was shot in Italy, the United States and Africa.
WCP is a cloud-based, end-to-end platform for storing, managing, transcoding, viewing and distributing media files quickly and securely. The production team is using the platform to store dailies, production media and episode edits, and share them with the series’ international production team and other stakeholders in a fast, secure environment.
WCP is enabling series producers to view dailies media at high quality. The platform employs a transcoding system that automatically transcodes and delivers media optimized for individual end users. They also needed to be 100 percent certain of the quality and the look of the material they were sending abroad. For this project, WCPMedia’s support team took the further step of designing a customized workflow that ensures colour continuity. Media streamed to producers via virtual screening rooms conforms precisely to colour looks set during production.
WCP is also giving the production a large margin of security and control over assets. Production media is stored within a Swiss data centre with Tier IV certification, the same level of security employed by international financial institutions. Access to virtual screening rooms is controlled and tracked directly by the production team with enterprise-level tools for user authorization and authentication. www.wcpmediaservices.com
