Pixotope was part of the action at the 19th Asian Games and 4th Asian Para Games, 2022.

On 30 May, Pixotope will launch a networking event with Samsung, BytePlus, Aux Media, RED and Aputure, titled Better Engagement, Create Anywhere at Infinite Studio in Singapore.

Pixotope Vice President APAC Sales Andrew Tan said, “We are at a critical time in the virtual production industry. As many challenges remain for producers, the purpose of the Better Engagement, Create Anywhere event is to discuss what Pixotope and our industry partners can do differently to create better audience engagement.”

A typical encounter with virtual production, especially during tradeshows, involves looking over stages and volumes set up to demonstrate a virtual studio with a green or blue stage, or XR with LED walls. This was an approach Pixotope and their partners wanted to change – as Andrew commented, many people know what virtual production is, but fewer actually understand how it can be applied and add value to different industries.

Virtually Engaging

Andrew said, “We do not want to do the usual this time. Instead we want to get people together in a casual setting, integrate a networking session and only then add a showcase presentation during the session. At that point we can address ways to help clients engage further with their audiences, using new virtual production technology and approaches.

“Broadcasters, for example, constantly want to find better ways to engage with their viewers, as do live sports organisations, event producers, brands, corporations and other groups. Thus, one of the objectives of this event is to show that virtual production is relevant to all of these organisations, industries and markets. Then we take that knowledge and during the networking sessions, spark and develop tangible, real-world ideas on how virtual production can be used to improve audience engagement.”

During the networking session, attendees can explore the main stage and also participate in Pixotope’s interactive video booth for real-life examples showing the potential of virtual production, AR, VR and XR. People from many industries are expected to take part, including broadcasters, education, production, large corporations, government agencies, advertising agencies, live sports and event organisers.

Not One Size Fits All

“It is important for everyone to understand that virtual production is not a one size fits all kind of technology, as the application of it varies,” said Andrew. “Therefore, bringing Pixotope, Samsung, BytePlus, Aux Media, RED and Aputure together enables us to illustrate the virtual production workflow as each developer shows its role in the system.”

The event will highlight some of Pixotope’s key features, in particular its ability to allow talent to interact with virtual objects using proprietary AI functionality instead of sensors.

Pixotope Lost in time

Andrew said the goal for the event is to educate and inspire attendees and participants. “Drawing these six major media technology partners together is a rare opportunity,” he said. “Participants will have the chance to speak to and network with all of us in one location – and then have a little fun with something special we will have set up after the presentation.” What will that be? You’ll have to attend and experience it for yourself.
