Animal Logic Entertainment has partnered with Japan’s Tezuka Productions to develop alive action, science fiction superhero feature film based on the comic book franchiseAstro Boy. Astro Boy, known in Japan as ‘Mighty Atom’, first appeared as a Japanese manga series from 1951 to 1968 written and illustrated by cartoonist, animator and film producerOsamu Tezuka. Walt Disney served as a primary inspiration for Tezuka during his early career. Astro Boy became Tezuka’s most famous character.

The series sold over 100 million manga copies worldwide and led to further manga series and several animated television series over the years. Astro Boy ranks as one of the best known comic book characters of all time, and and is considered to have inspired generations of comic book writers and artists.
 
The feature will be produced byZareh Nalbandianfrom Animal Logic Entertainment withJason Lustacting as executive producer.  Mike Callaghan and Reuben Liber fromRanger 7 Filmswill also act as Executive Producers on the film.
