The K+ distribution team uses Broadpeak’s server-side ad insertion (SSAI) to personalise and monetise its live streaming channels and AVOD service, while engaging viewers with content.
Pay-TV operator VSTV, known also as K+, is Vietnam’s first joint-venture in the television sector, established between Vietnam’s national TV broadcaster VTV and CANAL+ group in France. VSTV’s distribution team is using Broadpeak’s server-side ad insertion (SSAI) to personalise and monetise its live channels and new AVOD service.
The ad insertion service, available through the broadpeak.io SaaS platform, has proven to be an effective way for VSTV to generate revenue for its OTT services.

Broadpeak’s platform is used to dynamically insert targeted ads for 10,000 hours of VOD content, including series from VIU OTT service, for which the operator holds exclusive rights in the Vietnamese market. It also serves 40 live channels featuring events like Formula 1 and English Premier League soccer.
broadpeak.io platform simplifies targeted ad insertion, allowing VSTV to personalize ad replacements based on viewer behaviour and preferences. It can be performed programmatically – through real time bidding – or in pre-fetch mode or in combination, to support different campaigns. The broadpeak.io platform is integrated with VSTV’s SpringServe ad server.
For file-based content such as VoD, catch-up or cloud DVR, dynamic ad insertion supports preferences for pre-roll, mid-roll and post-roll positions and – when SCTE-35 triggers are available – dynamic replacement can be done with frame accuracy for both linear and delayed TV services.
Ad material is automatically checked for quality and transcoded dynamically. Video ABR transcoding supports H264 and HEVC. Ads are delivered through a distributed edge origin layer with CDN delivery as an option.
The SaaS supports both server and client-side ad tracking, using the IAB-certified BPK SmartLib SDK for Client-Side Ad Tracking to generate relevant analytics relating to monetisation and QoE performance. The lib is integrated by adding APIs to apps for all devices – smartphone, tablet, Smart TV, set-top box, browser and so on.
