BBright develops specialised media processing, transport over IP and monitoring tools, and has now successfully integrated its suite of software into Skyline Communications' DataMiner platform. This collaboration improves the system’s transport over IP and monitoring capabilities for broadcasters and media operators, and results in a unified, efficient workflow.
The integration process was straightforward, due to BBright's adherence to open standards and interoperability. BBright's software, recognised especially for media processing in live scenarios, now interfaces directly with DataMiner, Skyline's comprehensive digital transformation platform.
This integration gives complete visibility and control over BBright's Transport-over-IP and monitoring to users from within the DataMiner environment. DataMiner is software used in the digital transformations that many businesses are now undertaking, such as a transition from baseband broadcast delivery to IP, virtualisation and cloud migration.
Its tools are used to create and operate new digital systems, and then evolve them continuously over time. It comprises a data acquisition and control layer, collaboration facilities, an orchestration and automation module with an open architecture, among other components, and is available on-premises or in a cloud environment.
BBright's Transport over IP solutions are designed to directly integrate with SDI infrastructures and facilitate ST2110 migration projects. High density and scalable, they also support mainstream public internet protocols like SRT used for reliable, efficient media transport over IP networks. For monitoring, the BBright monitoring decoder and analyser is able to handle UHD, HDR, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos video, giving visual access to video content with audio and metadata, regardless of the source, including TSoIP, SRT, SDI, or ST2110.
Not only verifying the conformity of signals, Bbright monitoring gives access to live content for users to check and listen to audio, view video and ensure the presence of metadata. With its log system, all alarms are stored and accessible via the web interface, or via API for workflow integration.
