The new AG-CX370, with a 15M sensor and wide-angle 20x optical zoom, is built for production, broadcast and live streaming with 4-channel audio, GENLOCK inputs and 12G-SDI output.
Panasonic’s new AG-CX370 handheld camcorder is designed for professional video production, broadcasting and live streaming. It serves as an upgrade to the initial model in the Panasonic CX series, the AG-CX350, and keeps its 10-bit 4K recording, wide-angle high-magnification zoom lens, HDR compatibility with both V-Log and HLG, and manual three-ring control. It also has the same connectivity features such as direct streaming and NDI HX.
GENLOCK Input, 4-Channel Audio
Available from the end of July 2025, the AG-CX370 now has 12G-SDI output, GENLOCK input and 4-channel audio input with 4-channel independent audio volume controls. Like all models in the series, it supports 10-bit 4K/50p recording and RTSP/RTP/RTMP/RTMPS streaming capabilities.
The SDI output terminal supports 12G for delivering high-quality, uncompressed 4K video to modern video equipment. Simultaneous 4K output via SDI and HDMI is also supported. Using the new, integrated GENLOCK input terminal, teams can synchronise multi-camera systems for broadcast.
As well as two XLR inputs, a 3.5mm stereo mini-jack input supports up to four external microphones for 4-channel audio recording. Each of the channels has a dedicated volume control for precise manual adjustment.
NDI HX2 compatibility is built-in via a LAN port, making IP-based transmissions and camera control possible when connected to NDI-compatible switchers, decoders and other devices. The efficiency of NDI HX2 results in smooth, high-quality IP live video production. Note that recording, streaming and 4K output are not available in NDI HX2 mode.
A vertical video flag makes content creation more straightforward for Instagram, YouTube Shorts and other vertical platforms, although streaming in vertical format is not supported. Further to these upgrades, the AG-CX370’s compact, lightweight design and energy efficiency extends its usability across production, broadcasting and streaming.
15M Sensor, Wide-Angle 20x Optical Zoom, HDR Recording
The camera is built with a high-definition, high-sensitivity 1.0-type 15M MOS sensor, and has a 24.5 mm (35mm equivalent) wide-angle 20x optical zoom with i.Zoom, which can crop in and extend the existing zoom on high resolution images. High-precision AF with face detection is included, with auto-tracking and 5-axis hybrid image stabilisation.
For HDR video, users can record in Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG) or with V-Log Gamma, adopted from Panasonic's VARICAM cinema cameras. Image tuning with 16-axis independent colour correction is also available.
The camera’s two multi-codec slots, supporting relay, simultaneous and background recording, make recording flexible. As well as 4K/60p/10-bit MOV video with the HEVC codec, users can record HD video compatible with AVC-ULTRA (P2 MXF) and AVCHD formats, and also record 10-bit quality at variable frame rates (VFR) without cropping. Also, 4-channel 24-bit PCM audio can be recorded. Special recording modes include Pre-REC, interval recording to capture a pre-defined number of frames at a chosen interval, timestamping and still image capture. By switching Pre-REC to ON, the camera will capture frames, saving the ones from a few seconds before the record button is pressed.
Camera System Upgrades
Camera system expansion and mobility features also add more flexibility for professional users. Remote control of focus and zoom can be set up in several ways – wired remote control, IP remote control over LAN and wireless remote control via tablet or smartphone. Each of the AG-CX370’s video outputs – SDI, HDMI and LCD – can deploy V-Log or V709 in V-Log, or HDR/SDR in HLG.
The camera is fully compatible with multi-camera systems with GENLOCK IN and also a TC IN/OUT terminal to connect the camera to an external recording device and synchronise the time codes. Tally display can be linked to the switchers, with simultaneous display on high-brightness, high-definition LCDs and EVFs.
Mathew Alexander, Product Marketing Manager - Broadcast & Professional Video at Panasonic Australia, said the new AG-CX370 opens new possibilities for video professionals, delivering the performance, flexibility and connectivity that modern video production requires. He said, "The AG-CX370 is the most recent model added to Panasonic’s CX Series of professional camcorders, making the lineup now complete with a camcorder for most applications and production environments.
“Industry professionals can now choose from the compact AG-CX20 4K camcorder, the handheld AG-CX350 4K camcorder, the AG-CX370 4K camcorder or the full-sized shoulder-mounted AJ-CX4000. These cameras also integrate directly with Panasonic’s studio and professional PTZ camera systems to allow a unified platform, making multi-camera production more efficient." pro-av.panasonic.net
