The RED Cine-Broadcast system made its UK debut at the 2025 Media Production & Technology Show (MPTS), including a demo of RED's integration with the EVS XT-VIA live production server.

RED CINE BROADCAST MODULE

RED Digital Cinema has brought its RED Cine-Broadcast system to the 2025 Media Production & Technology Show (MPTS) in London 14-15 May, marking the first time it has been shown in the UK broadcast and live production community.

"Our RED Cine-Broadcast solution brings a significant increase in creative flexibility for the industry," said Jeff Goodman, vice president of product management, RED Digital Cinema. "It allows broadcasters to introduce large-format, cinematic storytelling into the world of live content, without compromising on speed, reliability or standards compliance. It works directly within traditional broadcast environments, while adding a full set of IP-based systems all within the same product."

RED's Cine-Broadcast module, designed to bring filmic, full-frame imagery to live broadcast workflows, enables 8K live cinematic streaming, compliant with SMPTE ST 2110 standards, and integrates 3x and 4x super slow-motion capabilities, which are desirable now for high-end sports, entertainment and live event production. Recent deployments of the RED Cine-Broadcast Module took place at events broadcast by CBS Sports and NBC Sports Group.

MPTS attendees have had the opportunity to see RED's integration with EVS' XT-VIA live production server, which broadcasters can use to enhance their workflows with up to 4x super-slow-motion at 4K and 8x at 1080p, while simultaneously delivering two baseband channels through the RED Cine-Broadcast Module. This capability is powered by the RED Connect feature, accessed through a license, which enables IP live streaming of R3Ds and makes advanced workflows available, including real-time AI/ML augmentation and live-to-headset using 8K 120FPS R3Ds.

RED has also sponsored a live sports discussion featuring speakers from La Liga, Sky Sports and EMG / Gravity Media. The panel will examine how cinematic imagery is reshaping sports production, taking advantage of larger-format sensors and cinema-style lenses to create more immersive viewing experiences. www.red.com
