Vizrt is extending its line-up of TriCaster production switchers with TriCaster Vizion and TriCaster Mini S, and made two cloud-ready versions available in the AWS Marketplace.

TriCaster Mini S

Vizrt is expanding the reach and capabilities of its line-up of TriCaster production switchers. The company has developed two new models, TriCaster Vizion and TriCaster Mini S, and made two cloud-ready versions available in the AWS Marketplace.

Configurable Hardware Production Switcher – TriCaster Vizion

TriCaster Vizion is now the new top of the range system with updated IP connectivity, configurable SDI I/O supplied by Matrox devices, and modern switching, audio mixing and graphics functionality. Its TriCaster Graphics functionality runs on Viz Flowics software, as standard.

TriCaster Vizion has diverse automation options. These range from the use of macros and Intelligent Configuration Panels with stored settings, to colour matching between video inputs and using live motion to trigger automated operation sequences. Also, using AI, TriCaster can recognise and cancel or reduce background noise, and automatically detect voices.

The switcher’s LivePanel includes control panels for remote video mixing, media playback, audio mixing and macro automation – all accessible during production. Users can create their own software control panels and operate the system live from desktops or mobile devices located anywhere on the network.

With 44 live inputs, up to 16 configurable SDI inputs / outputs, four media players, eight MEs and remote production tools like Live Call Connect, it works well for multi-camera productions created by broadcasters, sports networks and live event producers. The system uses Matrox DSX LE5 SDI I/O cards to supply SDI connectivity and integration into production workflows. This includes flexible SDI input and output configurations up to 12G, which helps users adapt more easily between production environments.

TriCaster Vizion

TriCaster Vizion comes with perpetual and subscription licensing options and a choice of two different hardware platforms supported by HP.

Entry-level Software-Only TriCaster Mini S

In contrast to the Vizion system, TriCaster Mini S is an entry-level, software-only switcher for content creators and smaller productions who need access to professional-grade capabilities. This means that, with a subscription, it can be set up on the user’s choice of hardware, making it a live production system that suits streamers and podcasters, and those working in corporate, educational, medical, governmental, religious and digital media streaming environments.

Like the Vizion switcher, it has IP connectivity, 4Kp60 streaming and integrated TriCaster Graphics from Viz Flowics as standard. Functionality includes live video switching, virtual sets, special effects, audio mixing, recording, social media publishing and web streaming. Eight live inputs, two DDR players, four M/Es are built in.

This software-only version makes most of the TriCaster functionality available. For instance, Live Link renders web pages directly into the TriCaster and pulls web page elements into a production without using a 3rd party application. Users can also access monitoring and multiviewers in real time, and share real-time updates and on-demand content across most types of social media accounts.

The NDI IP video protocol can be used to connect to NDI-enabled devices and software, plus the large number of third-party IP video products, using a single network cable for video, audio, key, control, tally and, in some cases, power over Ethernet.

Multichannel audio mixing functionality includes a software-based audio mixer, support for digital, analogue and USB audio devices, audio over IP networking with NDI, Dante and AES67. Especially useful is the ability to add files to the built-in video players for playback, on-demand or automated, including auto-advancing playlists and live highlight reels with responsive controls, presets and real-time editing tools.

TriCaster Vizion and TriCaster Mini S are available now.

Tricaster on AWS Marketplace

Two other cloud-based Tricaster switchers – TriCaster Vectar and TriCaster Now – are now available on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Marketplace. The intention here is to make the testing, purchase and management of these Vizrt products accessible within users’ AWS Marketplace accounts.

TriCaster Vectar, previously called Viz Vectar Plus, is designed for larger news and sports productions, supporting up to 44 external sources. It can be deployed in customer’s AWS accounts for free as a fully functional watermarked version for testing, with customers responsible for managing AWS costs.

TriCaster Now supports up to eight inputs and is made for smaller seasonal or entry level productions and corporate town halls. It operates as a fully managed SaaS service with a simple usage-based credits pricing model. www.vizrt.com
