EvertzAV added two compact, high-performance 4K60 gateways for direct AV-over-IP integration to the NUCLEUS platform, and built a transceiver gateway on its Software Defined Video Network architecture.
Two versatile new standalone AV gateways from EvertzAV have been developed for high-quality, low-latency video and audio transport over IP. Developed as part of the company’s NUCLEUS AV-over-IP platform, their design emphasises flexibility and simplicity in enterprise-grade AV over IP deployments.
Evertz is currently showing the devices (UXP-TRXS4K-USB2 and UXP-TRXS4K-USB2-RJ) at ISE 2025 in Barcelona, as well as a new compact, standalone 10GbE transceiver gateway (MMA10G-TRXS4K-USB2) built on Evertz’s Software Defined Video Network (SDVN) architecture
Although they are the smallest low-profile gateways in the EvertzAV portfolio, the two UXP-TRXS4K gateways feature bi-directional simultaneous encoding and decoding of high-quality 4K60 (4:4:4) video to preserve visual quality with ultra-low latency.
Both models are built with embedded HDMI audio (8-channel PCM) and analogue stereo audio I/O, and support resolutions up to 4096x2160p at 60Hz. Other features are HDMI input/output, USB 2.0 ports, USB HID support and RS-232/RS-422 serial extension for flexible applications. They can be managed through the NUCLEUS Session Manager, a centralised platform that simplifies configuration and control.
Transport Capabilities
The differentiating features are their transport capabilities. The UXP-TRXS4K-USB2 features 1/2.5/10GbE transport through an SFP+ interface, making it suitable for high-bandwidth applications requiring maximum performance. The UXP-TRXS4K-USB2-RJ is built for 1G and 2.5GbE transport over an RJ45 interface, serving as alternative transport for lower cost deployments.
Like other hardware on the NUCLEUS platform, the UXP-TRXS4K-USB2 and UXP-TRXS4K-USB2-RJ are simple to set up and deploy. With a simplified plug-and-play design, administrators without programming expertise can establish fully functional AV networks quickly. Both models interconnect with other NUCLEUS elements using commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) network switches.
The new UXP-TRXS4K hardware’s ultra-low latency transport suits applications such as corporate AV, live events and control rooms. Their ability to simultaneously send and receive video, audio and data over IP networks lends flexibility to these applications. Paulo Francisco, VP of Engineering at EvertzAV, commented that the compact new gateways are intended to simplify AV-over-IP deployment while delivering competitive 4K60 performance.
Compact Standalone Transceiver Gateway
Also at ISE, EvertzAV’s new compact standalone transceiver gateway is built on Evertz’s Software Defined Video Network (SDVN) architecture, supporting AV distribution over IP. With a 10GbE infrastructure, the MMA10G-TRXS4K-USB2’s performance suits applications that depend on high-resolution video, low-latency audio and versatile control, for example, enterprise, education and entertainment.
It carries out bi-directional simultaneous encoding and decoding, sufficient to support 4K60 (4:4:4) video resolution. This makes it possible for users to transmit uncompressed video and audio signals at zero latency, resulting in original-quality visuals and sound for AV workflows.
Connectivity
To increase flexibility, the MMA10G-TRXS4K-USB2 is equipped with HDMI input/output, analogue audio I/O, two USB 2.0 ports, USB HID ports and an RS-232/RS-422 serial port.
Features such as video cropping and scaling make it especially useful for video walls and multi-screen installations. Built-in scaling engines and customizable EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) tables allow integration across various AV environments. EDID metadata formats describe the capabilities of display devices to a video source, which can then send the best compatible signal data to the screen.
On the audio side, the gateway supports HDMI-embedded audio (8-channel PCM) and analogue stereo audio for compatibility with modern AV standards.
MMA10G-TRXS4K-USB2 has been integrated with the MAGNUM-AV configuration, control and management system, and supports remote monitoring via Evertz' VistaLINK PRO NMS software for oversight of the whole environent.
The transceiver gateway has been engineered for simplicity with a compact, durable low-profile form factor to ease installation into various scenarios. As a single device that serves as both a transmitter and receiver, with a plug-and-play design, it reduces the need to make decisions at installation time.
Its ultra-low latency transport is useful in situations where users need to guarantee AV delivery over long distances, and it has also been tested against the US Department of Defense (DoD) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to ensure it meets recognised cybersecurity and operational safety standards. www.evertz.com
