OpenDrives designed a mid-tier Professional Bundle for enterprise-class performance and data management capabilities, plus cost predictability due to its unlimited capacity licensing model.

Open Drives Atlas 2 9

OpenDrives’ Atlas software version 2.9 includes Atlas Professional, a new mid-tier feature bundle aiming to extend high-performance storage, plus enterprise-scale data accessibility and management to media organizations of all sizes. Atlas Professional sits between the starter bundle Atlas Essentials and the top of the range bundle Atlas Comprehensive, both of which were part of Atlas 2.8.

Atlas Professional is geared toward fast-growing, mid-sized media organizations with moderately complex workflows. Cost predictability, performance and ease of use are needed to keep dispersed creative teams productive, efficient and nimble enough to pursue planned and unplanned projects and opportunities. Atlas Professional includes features not available in the Atlas Essentials bundle, such as Active/Passive High Availability (HA), Containerization, NFS over RDMA (NFSoRDMA), with a Single Pane of Glass (SPOG) administrative view and is available on OpenDrives' Ultra hardware platform. From there, for further scaling and integration capabilities, upgrading to Atlas Comprehensive is simple.

OpenDrives has also introduced capabilities in version 2.9 that simplify data accessibility, and address fragmented workflows that interfere with collaboration and creativity in remote work environments.

The ability to achieve a balance of enterprise-class performance and data management capabilities, and at the right price for mid-sized organizations, is now possible using Atlas' composable software architecture. Unlike traditional storage, Atlas' composable architecture does not apply a standard per-capacity licensing model that may make enterprise storage performance and data management capabilities cost prohibitive for smaller and mid-sized organizations as they grow and need space to take on more work.

With Atlas Professional now a part of OpenDrives' composable Atlas feature bundle lineup, media organizations of all sizes can access economical scalability and cost predictability, and avoid the need to manage unused, unnecessary features.

"Approaching data storage software development with composability has allowed us to think in a more granular way about market segments and tailor configurations to solve specific workflow needs," said Sean Lee, CEO, OpenDrives. "Instead of creating one-size-fits-all solutions, we focus on feature bundles that align better with user requirements. Adding more features is only a matter of upgrading to a higher bundle. It replaces outdated transactional models with a platform that grows along with customer needs, with intrinsic value, mutually beneficial ROI, and the flexibility users need to adapt their environment to business requirements." opendrives.com
