DMC Production Norway handled a remote, centralised 17-camera production of Blinkfestivalen for NRK, using Net Insight’s Open Media Platform for encoding and orchestration.
Taking place 5 - 8 August 2026, Blinkfestivalen is an unusual sports event held in Norway that brings together elite cross-country skiing and biathlon athletes across several locations. Following its launch in 2006, the Blink rollerski festival has become a premier international rollerski event. This year it also served as a high-profile setting for DMC Production Norway, a provider of facilities and technical services for sports leagues and federations across Europe.
This year, DMC handled centralised production of Blinkfestivalen for Norway’s national broadcaster, NRK. Because Blinkfestivalen has grown into a large, operationally demanding production, DMC needed to centralise more of the workflow without compromising video quality or control.
Handling a 17-Camera Production Remotely
DMC built an efficient, cost-effective infrastructure they used to manage a complex 17-camera production remotely. Combining Net Insight’s Nimbra 520, Nimbra Edge and Nimbra Live Intelligence, the team was able to reduce on-site resources and production costs while maintaining the quality and operational control required for delivery to NRK.
This combined system is Net Insight’s Open Media Platform. Central to the deployment was the compact Nimbra 520 platform, capable of carrying out high-quality HEVC 4:2:2 encoding for multiple live camera feeds. Nimbra Edge and Nimbra Live Intelligence added centralised orchestration, real-time service visibility and operational assurance, unifying workflows that needed to efficiently manage production across infrastructure that incorporate Internet and cloud services.

By using the software to manage services across these complex infrastructures involving multiple domains, users such as DMC can maintain predictable delivery, while keeping live operations agile and scalable.
Predictable Delivery
