Riedel has expanded SimplyLive’s RiMotion replay and Venue Gateway contribution software, and added flexible licensing for the Production Suite and a REST API for 3rd-party integration.
Riedel Communications has expanded its live production platform SimplyLiv , aiming to make it more adaptable, scalable and able to integrate into broadcast, sports and live event workflows. The launch includes a new Flex licensing program for the SimplyLive Production Suite, extends SimplyLive’s RiMotion replay and Venue Gateway contribution applications, and introduces SimplyLive Connect, an API for third-party integration.
Affordable Bundles
Furthermore, SimplyLive now includes RiView, which reformats the RefBox software used for officiating, coaching and analytical workflows. RiView packages the RefBox tools into cost-effective bundles for a range of different video review requirements. The RiView lineup includes RV4, RV8 and RV16, making configurations from 4 to 16 HD inputs available with synchronized multi-angle control, a touchscreen-based interface and remote operation capabilities.
Multiple RiView systems can also be networked to accommodate demands for large-scale reviewing. All the models feature pinch-and-zoom functionality and support for super slow-motion (SSM) cameras, which help to make refereeing, coaching and broadcast applications more versatile.
Updated Replay and Signal Transport for Contribution
Riedel has enhanced SimplyLive’s RiMotion live replay tools by launching RiMotion R16 and R166 software bundles, which both run on 2RU units. The RiMotion R16 bundle supports up to 16 HD channels. R166 supports up to 16 HD or 6 UHD channels. Riedel has furthered the networking capabilities and expanded the operator configurations in these bundles. Super slo-mo camera support is added, with direct integration of both touchscreen UI and dedicated replay controllers.
The existing Venue Gateway series, which performs signal transport and multichannel contribution, received a major update with the introduction of Venue Gateway 8 Standard, 8 Advanced and 1612 Advanced. The compact, entry-level Standard model delivers 8 bidirectional SDI channels. The Advanced versions have higher bit-depth encoding and more networking flexibility, and support HDR workflows. The 1612 Advanced model, made for large-scale productions, can handle 16 bidirectional SDI channels, expands tally integration and improves audio processing.
Flexible Licensing and New REST API
The SimplyLive Production Suite Flex licensing scheme is also new and gives users the option to tailor their production environments to operational and financial needs, applicable to on-premise, remote or cloud-based environments. Users can choose from various hardware options and deployment models that suit specific production strategies – from one-time purchases to pay-as-you-go or hybrid models.
The new REST API, SimplyLive Connect, allows direct integration with external broadcast control systems. Teams can monitor, manage and configure SimplyLive tools as part of a unified production environment. Designed for deployment either on COTS hardware or on public and private cloud infrastructure. With the extra interoperability, production infrastructures become more connected, responsive and better equipped to meet the demands of distributed workflows in the future.
“With the SimplyLive portfolio, we are not only improving production flexibility now, but also laying a foundation for the future of COTS-based live production,” said Paul Macklin, Senior Product Manager, Live Video Replay at Riedel Communications. “Riedel has moved SimplyLive manufacturing to our Wuppertal headquarters, putting us in a better position to strengthen our innovation pipeline and expand our capabilities to evolve in step with the industry’s changing demands.” www.riedel.net
