ZOO Digital specialises in localisation, language correction and media services for global content owners, delivering localized entertainment content in more than 80 languages. Quality control is an important factor within these workflows. ZOO Digital has chosen Interra System’s BATON software to support file-based QC, helping their team to evaluate incoming and outgoing media files against broadcaster and streaming platform requirements.

BATON performs automated checks on file-based content, including audio and video analysis, loudness measurement, format compliance and detecting common technical issues like black frames and freeze frames. The system can be deployed at scale and integrated into existing media supply chains, supporting ZOO Digital’s localisation and distribution operations.
Automatic QC Reports and Productivity Boost
Automated video QC is considered essential for file-based workflows. An advantage of using BATON is its detailed QC reports, which are quickly, intelligently consumed so that workflows can react as needed without intervention, and content is processed promptly. The reports are generated automatically and contain detailed information about the errors, warnings and other media file information.
As well as assuring standards compliance, BATON ‘s high-quality media output helps speed up production processes and control costs and, by integrating automated and manual video-QC checks, creates an efficient workflow that works across the organisation and for every piece of content. By coupling BATON with manual review, users improved productivity with better results.
It’s possible to create specific test plans in BATON that can detect particular issues, and teams can also carry out pre-editing, post production and archiving or preservation QC.
Instead of relying on reference video, BATON internally decodes audio and video and applies its own quality-checking algorithms to discover quality issues. An extra tool, BATON Content Corrector, is supplied that corrects various audio-video errors ranging from loudness, RGB Color Gamut, Video Signal Levels and PSE video flash to black frames.
