BCNEXXT designed their cloud-native playout platform Vipe as an alternative to the traditional one-channel-to-one-server relationship. Vipe at IBC 2026
At the IBC 2026 show, BCNEXXT will demonstrate an updated version of Vipe. Its new capabilities continue to focus on improving efficiency and lowering operating costs for service providers. For instance, a new option for regional opt outs makes it possible to derive multiple personalised regional variants from a main channel under a single point of control, including rights blanking or replacement for streaming services that might have rights restrictions. The straightforward user interface features a 2-dimensional view where multiple opt-out channels and variable content can be managed simultaneously.
By dynamically optimising CPU/GPU functions and improving how data from the system infrastructure is presented, Vipe continuously unifies all system operating metrics into simple user interfaces, which helps organisations increase their channel count without recruiting further operators.
An enhanced lines recording package - which records incoming live feeds for replay later - now applies the efficiency of the Vipe platform to recording live content and sharing it across multiple channels. This record once, use many philosophy includes soft parting to extract short segments from longer streams, clipping, immediate playback while recording continues, and the management of the recorded content. Vipe also now features support for newer formats such as HDR HLG.
