YES is set to launch a cpmprehensive new streaming TV service for Israeli telco Partner Communications as part of a long-term collaboration agreement between YES and Synamedia.

Synamedia Partner TV plus UI

YES, pay-TV subsidiary of Israeli telecommunications company Bezeq, is preparing to launch a new streaming TV service for Partner Communications, another Israeli telco, as part of a collaboration agreement between YES and Synamedia.

YES will deliver a version of its Sting+ viewing app and purchase content for a new Partner+ app that will feature up-to-date Partner branding and new viewer experiences. Partner Communications TV subscribers will then be upgraded to Partner+.

Infinite Multi-Screen Workflows

The YES Sting+ app, which is complemented by the YES+ premium app, is based on OTT, cloud and SaaS technologies from Synamedia as part of their earlier adoption of Synamedia’s cloud-based Infinite platform. Using the tools on Infinite, YES can process, distribute, secure and monetise broadcast/OTT content and services across all screens, and manage media workflows ranging from consumer onboarding and content offers to dynamic catalogue curation and other routine tasks.

As well as its multi-screen OTT services, Infinite helps YES personalise offers and strengthen customer engagement. YES can also access data analytics and addressable advertising tools to find new revenue sources, and use Infinite’s security features to prevent piracy and credential sharing.

Synamedia's technology has made it possible to create different brands for different service providers using a tenanted cloud architecture in a completely secure environment. This makes an efficient, cost-effective way of scaling streaming services, even for different providers in the same country.

Modular OTT Service

The Partner+ app will use Synamedia's streaming platform technology running on the Synamedia Go SaaS, a modular OTT service builder. Used as an Experience Manager to deliver editorial strategies and personalise viewing experiences, Synamedia Go enhances and simplifies streaming service management. A service can be launched quickly on the Synamedia Partner Network and then enhanced and differentiated with add-on modules as it evolves and business needs change.

Synamedia Scalable Edge CDN

For example the Go.Enrich module works as an AI enrichment platform to enhance sparse metadata, adding new contributor, tag, genre, mood and ratings data, improving imagery, filling metadata gaps and adding translations. Configurations can be modified to employ either supported enrichments or custom enrichments within the data flow. The Go.Aggregate module only needs to be integrated once and further streaming services added later without deployment or code changes in the front- or back-end. As it allows viewers to open content sources directly with deeplinks, they can access all of their preferred content through one service. Other available modules include Go.Personalise, Go.Recommend and Go.Time-shift TV.

Scalable Delivery

The overall YES solution also incorporates Synamedia technologies and services including security, disaster recovery and FluidEdge CDN, for scalable delivery from the edge. FluidEdge CDN gives visibility and control over video delivery as it grows and changes, via more than 100 pre-configured dashboards. Users can set up smart management of their streaming traffic quality-of-service with real-time monitoring, alerts and AI powered analytics. Scaling on demand, YES can perform CDN extension to the cloud or multi-CDN configuration as channel policy dictates, scaling rapidly and gaining insights into the results.

Itzhak Elyakim, VP of Engineering and CTO at YES, said, "Our partnership with Synamedia has evolved over decades and we continue to collaborate with them to bring the latest innovations to our subscribers while supporting our transition from satellite to IP. For our agreement with Partner Communications, we needed a cast iron guarantee that the technology can manage multiple operating companies under the same platform with the highest level of security we have come to expect."

Dr. Tzvi Gerstl, EVP of Media Technology at Synamedia, said, "This agreement with Partner Communications shows how telcos can expand their TV services beyond organic growth. By using the YES app, powered by Synamedia Go, our platform for multi-operator services, brand customisation, and content aggregation, Partner benefits from proven technology while its subscribers will enjoy a highly personalised and future ready TV experience." www.synamedia.com
