Vizrt real-time graphics and live production specialist has promoted Thomas Nelson to Global Vice President of Key Accounts. With a firm focus on expanding the Americas’ market, Nelson will be responsible for critical accounts as well as wider business development.
Thomas has over 20 years of experience within the media technology market, working at Vizrt over the past 15 years. Beginning his career at TV 2 Norway in sports production, he moved to Vizrt Australia in 2008 and since has held senior leadership positions in Asia Pacific and Europe before increasing his scope to the US in 2023.
Taking on roles of increasing responsibility over the years, Thomas has specialist technical knowledge and business experience leading international customer account teams. With a deep understanding of the Vizrt ecosystem, the wider industry and its opportunities, Nelson is ready to support Vizrt customers in the Americas by ensuring he utilizes his expertise to drive value, efficiencies and business success.
His commitment to supporting innovation across customer accounts has also been instrumental in driving adoption and expanding Vizrt’s event-based and live sports systems to a wider audience.
“The media tech market is undergoing significant transformation, from sports rights and streaming to mergers and acquisitions. Our customers are facing disruptions that demand more than a vendor – they need a dedicated partner,” Thomas said. “My global experience across Vizrt, paired with the capabilities of our customer success team, ensures we can best support our customers as they redefine workflows, standardise operations, and look to innovate while driving efficiencies.”
The appointment of Thomas comes after a period of transformation for Vizrt, including the unification of the organization’s product portfolio, bringing together its NewTek and Vizrt brands, and the growth of its customer success department.
“Thomas’s appointment comes at a critical time where our customers are gearing up for a busy year with the upcoming US elections, and other major news and sports events. By strengthening our leadership team within the America’s market and working together on improving our customer’s experience we solidify our commitment to their continued success,” states Michael Hallén, Chief Executive Officer, Vizrt.
