EVS Xeebra

EVS will show recent updates to the Xeebra multi-camera review system, and a new Zoom feature for its LSM-VIA replay system at NAB Show 2025. The Xeebra review system is developed and customised to support sports officials involved in making accurate, real-time decisions. Officials using Xeebra can quickly select, synchronise and play back multiple camera angles in slow motion.

To analyse the action in greater detail, Xeebra users can zoom in on the touchscreen interface using simple touch gestures. Built on the same technology as the EVS live replay systems, Xeebra has the advantage of EVS’ expertise in live sports broadcasting. FIFA and FIBA certified, the system is used in 13 sports, including soccer, basketball, auto racing, cycling, rugby, sailing and horseracing.

At NAB Show 2025, EVS will introduce several new features, including support for SMPTE ST 2110, SRT (Secure Reliable Transport), and NDI (Network Device Interface) protocols, increasing interoperability and remote operation capabilities.

Officials will also be able to review more camera angles simultaneously to improve the accuracy of their decisions. This upgrade takes advantage of the system’s larger channel capacity, supporting up to 16 channels in SDI or 16 channels in SMPTE ST 2110 (100 Gbps), all in Full HD resolution.

AI-assisted Video Offside Line

A significant addition to Xeebra is the AI-assisted Video Offside Line (VOL) feature, which speeds up the process of determining the position of the critical offside line in soccer. By reducing the time these decisions take, Zeebra can help referees make quicker calls, improving the accuracy of the rulings and, ultimately, the fan experience.

Nicolas Moreau, Senior Program Manager, PowerVision at EVS, noted, “Xeebra has earned the trust of officials across numerous disciplines because of its reliability and speed. To make these latest enhancements, we're reinforcing our focus on a multi-camera review system that helps professionals make accurate decisions faster.” EVS PowerVision is about tools designed for reliable, precise video insights, promoting fairness and performance optimization in sports.

Another new tool is Xeebra Insight, a more portable version of the system designed for coaching and medical staff, will also be introduced. This version can be deployed on laptops and tablets, allowing teams to review and analyse action from multiple angles in real time. It supports users as they adapt game strategy and make on-field injury assessments, further broadening Xeebra's application beyond officiating.

New Zoom Feature for Live Replays

EVS is also launching Zoom, a new feature for its LSM-VIA replay and highlights system and will present it at NAB. Zoom aims to improve game analysis and storytelling in high-quality live sports productions.

EVS LSM VIA Zoom

Integrated into the LiveCeption series of solutions, Zoom is controlled directly from the LSM-VIA device through a simple interface. Using touch gestures on a touchscreen, replay operators can zoom into a camera feed to accurately capture the key moments. From there, to take the pressure from live production workflows, operators can define preset regions of interest, and then zoom into these regions with a single tap. Additionally, keyframes can be added to a zoom sequence to hold focus on points of interest as they change and make sure that important moments are always in view.

4K Image Cropping

Zoom operates in real-time and maintains high image quality by cropping 4K inputs to generate sharp, focussed 1080p output that integrates into replay sequences. It is compatible with UHD cameras, including super motion cameras that record up to four phases for playout. The system supports both SDI and SMPTE ST-2110 video standards, making it suitable for diverse production environments. Clips can also be stored, with keyframes as metadata, for future edits or exported to external systems.

"We are introducing the Zoom feature at NAB Show after testing it with customers during live productions," said Ignacio Revuelto, Product Marketing Manager LiveCeption at EVS. "Operators appreciate its ease of use, speed and responsiveness, and how smoothly it works."

For sharper output, the zoomed content can also be improved using XtraMotion, an AI-assisted tool. XtraMotion creates super motion or deblurred footage, and clearer zoomed-in replays, by generating and inserting extra keyframes into clips.

Specialist attendees of NAB Show 2025 including ,systems integrators, service providers and sports league representatives can visit the EVS booth in South Lower Hall to see live demonstrations of LSM-VIA and Xeebra’s feature updates. evs.com
