ITV’s MultiStory Media moved into a new Covent Garden facility where Gravity Media’s remote production gallery supports the production and broadcast of three major, live ITV programmes.

Gravity media ITV9

MultiStory Media production company is a subsidiary of ITV Studios, operating within its unscripted content department and specialising in current affairs, factual content and topical and live programming. At the start of 2026, MultiStory Media became the producer of some of ITV's best known titles, and shifted location to a new facility at Covent Garden in London where Gravity Media has deployed a specialised remote production gallery.

The new facility will be supporting the production and broadcast of 900 hours of live daily programming each year across three major ITV programmes – Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women, which are daily shows produced live.

The new studio build, focussing on efficient use of human and digital resources, features a 360-degree set with LED walls designed to support rapid turnarounds between shows. From Gravity Media’s single, high-specification remote gallery, the facility produces and broadcasts all three programmes, as well as other productions external to MultiStory Media transmission. With these features, the need for onsite infrastructure and travel is reduced significantly.

Resilient, Agile Infrastructure

The remote production infrastructure includes approximately 45,000m of video, audio, SMPTE, data and fibre cabling, needed to support 13 technical equipment racks and nine wall boxes across 34 camera positions. Together, this creates a resilient, agile infrastructure that has enabled flexible remote production from the start.

Gravity Media's Remote Production service uses high-bandwidth, low-latency fibre, satellite, broadband and mobile network technologies to transmit footage in real time to Gravity Media's Production Centre in White City, where engineering, editorial and creative teams prepare content for final delivery.

With dependability as the critical factor, Gravity’s remote production services allow producers to connect to their production centres in real time. Remote video production can bring advantages that are very valuable for operators today, including flexibility and the option to scale productions and integrate real-time footage from multiple locations into a single broadcast. Remote collaboration is a further aspect of remote workflows that speeds up production and controls costs.

SMPTE 2110 IP Media Fabric

The White City Production Centre, one of the largest MCRs in the UK, runs on a full SMPTE 2110 IP media fabric, adding more scope for scale, resilience and flexibility. The facility supports both on-premises and distributed remote production workflows with diverse, high capacity connectivity via multiple ISPs, supported by an in-house engineering team.

Launching later in 2026, Phase 2 of the project will build on this foundation by adding modern graphics and finishing capabilities, supporting the delivery of moving, high-quality broadcasts to ITV's audiences.

Kate Rendle, Director – Global Sales Director at Gravity Media commented, "Remote production allows us to deliver the broadcast quality ITV's audiences expect, while reducing environmental impact and operational costs. By centralising production, we can manage multiple live feeds, maintain high technical standards and build greater resilience into daily live production." www.gravitymedia.com
