Wētā FX has appointed VFX executive, Daniel Seah, as new CEO, after serving as CEO, Chairman and Executive Director of major VFX companies including Digital Domain for the past 12 years.
Wētā FX has appointed VFX executive Daniel Seah as their new CEO. Daniel brings executive-level experience in the VFX industry having served as the CEO, Chairman and Executive Director of major VFX companies including Digital Domain for the past 12 years.
He has a Master’s Degree of International Politics and Bachelor Degree in Law and has a background in investment banking. Wētā FX Owners and Directors, Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh said, “As we continue to focus on delivering world-class VFX we’re pleased to appoint someone of Daniel’s calibre as CEO to lead Wētā FX. We are confident that Daniel’s in-depth knowledge of the film and VFX industry, combined with his financial industry experience, will mean he is an excellent addition to the Wētā FX team.”
Daniel Seah said, “Wētā FX is a giant in the film industry and at the cutting edge of filmmaking and visual effects. Daniel will relocate to Wellington for the role and start at Wētā FX in the near future, pending the completion of the immigration approval process.
Once in place, interim CEO David Wright will step down as CEO and help onboard Daniel. David will remain a key part of Wētā FX as a member of the board. www.wetafx.co.nz
