Dalet Flex packages are preconfigured production, media supply chain, distribution and archiving workflows, customisable and ready to integrate with third-party systems.

Dalet Flex

The agile, cloud-native Dalet Flex platform has undergone an upgrade that includes a new line-up of Dalet Flex Workflow Packages. Users can rapidly deploy these packages as preconfigured production, media supply chain, distribution and archiving workflows with enterprise-grade efficiency. Each workflow package is fully customizable and integrates directly with third-party technologies.

Designed to work independently or as interconnected building blocks, these workflow packages help organizations to scale and orchestrate end-to-end media operations in ways that improve efficiency, automation and innovation.

“Over the past 12 months, we have made a strategic shift in our development of Dalet solutions, ensuring they deliver value starting on day one,” said Stephen Garland, Chief Product & Technology Officer, Dalet. “This change goes beyond faster deployment. It reflects a fundamental shift in our culture in which customers are at the heart of every decision. By prioritizing requirements for simplicity, efficiency and speed, we are designing workflows that reduce complexity and cost and also deliver measurable value.”

Dalet’s new release is built on a user-centric design, prioritizing ease of use, efficiency and shorter time-to-monetisation. By focusing on user experience and speed of adoption, Dalet Flex helps avoid complex, time-consuming deployments and achieve an approach focussed on results.

When using Dalet Flex Workflow Packages, every deployment includes the Dalet Flex Starter Pack, which has the default configurations and core functions needed to begin managing content. This includes essential features like media ingest, support for growing files, and storage tiering management. From this package, users can choose from several specific packs tailored to their own demands.

The Digital pack simplifies workflows for importing, editing and publishing content across social media platforms. The Production pack addresses production formats and workflows, including integration with Dalet Cut and NLEs, as well as simpler review and approval processes. The AI pack enriches content with AI-generated metadata tagging, video indexing, speech-to-text conversion, translation and captioning. An extended Archive pack handles deep archive management, including hierarchical storage management.

This range of packages serves common best-practice workflow scenarios, from digital teams to production and archive requirements. Built with the same Dalet Flex framework, they serve as ready-to-use starting points, allowing customers to customise and expand as required.

Further Dalet Flex Updates

Apart from the new workflow packages, updates to Dalet Flex feature a full migration to Kubernetes across the entire platform including transcoding and processing, greater resilience with self-healing, and zero downtime upgrades. Elasticity is enhanced through auto-scaling. All new features are fully cloud-agnostic.

The platform’s robust architecture supports high-demand environments, benchmarked at managing up to 800 parallel transcoders agents and executing over 300,000 workflows per day during peak usage during global events last year. By optimising resource utilisation, this approach reduces infrastructure costs, improves uptime and contributes to a more sustainable media supply chain. www.dalet.com
