Grass Valley has integrated native Dante audio networking within AMPP, allowing users to discover, manage and route Dante audio streams without external hardware.
Grass Valley has integrated native Dante audio networking within its AMPP (Agile Media Processing Platform), through a new strategic collaboration with Audinate, the pioneer and developer behind the Dante AV-over-IP platform.
This partnership brings Dante connectivity directly into AMPP, allowing users to discover, manage and route Dante audio streams without external hardware. With support for up to 128×128 bidirectional channels and latency as low as 1ms, the integration delivers robust audio capabilities across any of the AMPP-powered workflows.
By incorporating Dante into AMPP, users can apply agile, software-defined audio routing to projects produced in a studio, on location or in the cloud. The new functionality is tightly integrated into AMPP’s microservices architecture, and is deployed, scaled and managed like all other AMPP services. This allows operators to mix Dante sources alongside other IP audio formats within the GV Media Universe.
Dante I/O is available through AMPP’s flexible licensing model with hourly and monthly subscription options. Operators have instant, cost-effective access to professional audio networking enabling rapid deployment for short-term productions, seasonal events or dynamic scaling needs.
“The addition of native Dante support is a significant step in expanding the flexibility and openness of AMPP,” said Adam Marshall, Chief Product Officer at Grass Valley. “Customers can now incorporate Dante audio into their software-defined workflows with no extra hardware or long-term commitments, increasing both agility and efficiency.”
The integration supports a broad range of users across sectors including broadcast, live events, corporate AV, worship, education, esports and any industries turning to remote production and distributed workflows.
The integration supports up to 128 input and 128 output channels with low latency, includes software-based interoperability with other IP audio standards and can be deployment across cloud, on-premises or hybrid environments.
“This partnership reflects the accelerating shift to IP-based media infrastructure,” said Chris Ware, Senior Vice President, Product Development at Audinate. “By integrating Dante into AMPP, Grass Valley opens an effective platform for modern audio workflows, built to scale for everything from small studios to enterprise-grade distributed productions.”
The solution also supports the use of Dante Domain Manager for precise device management across complex network installations, including the creation of multiple clocking domains, management and routing of signals across VLANs and subnets, creation and management of AES67 & ST2110 device domains, and effective monitoring of the overall Dante system status. www.grassvalley.com
